Go back in time and enjoy An Evening at the Pink Poodle. Bring back the decadent sixties and the legendary Pink Poodle Motel. Centacare's theatre company, Running Duck, and Australian icon Normie Rowe and his band, come together to create An Evening at the Pink Poodle.
Australia underwent a lot of changes during the '60s. The Running Duck performers tell the story with impeccable skill. Normie Rowe brings back the distinct '60s sound and the dances that swept the nation during that time.

The man from the West and the woman from the East fall in love in this doomed tale of love and loss. Time and space come between lovers. B.F. Pinkerton is stationed in Japan as a Naval officer when he meets the enchanting geisha, Butterfly. They instantly fall in love and get married shortly.
Pinkerton eventually goes back to his country. Butterfly eagerly awaits his return even though her family has disowned her. As a ship draws close to the harbour, Butterfly can't help but hope. Puccini's opera is told with the cultures of America and Japan as a backdrop.
The play is directed by John Bell and performed by Opera Australia's singers. Catch Madama Butterly at Home of the Arts from July 18 - 20.
