Beyond the Gold Coast’s famous white beaches and iconic city skyline is an expansive patchwork of rolling hills, vineyards, ragged mountains and rainforest networked with hundreds of miles of walking trails. Just inland a short drive from our Surfers Paradise family apartments, the Mount Tambourine area is one of the most popular National Parks in the Gold Coast hinterland and features an excellent selection of walking tracks for all fitness levels. Here are three of the most popular routes for you to explore during your Gold Coast break.
Sandy Creek Circuit
Classified as an easier track, the Sandy Creek circuit stretches out 2.6km through open forest and transition forest and offers scenic panoramic views. There is a picnic area with tables near the start of the circuit, while a smaller branch track leads to the spectacular Cameron Falls Lookout.
Cedar Creek Falls track
Perfect for wheelchair users and families with strollers, the Cedar Creek Falls Track stretches to a scenic rainforest lookout where you can enjoy views of cascading waterfalls, swirling rock pools and clear mountain streams. Settle down for a bite to eat in the large grassy picnic area surrounding by towering eucalyptus trees.
Witches Falls Circuit
Enjoy an invigorating hike along the challenging Witches Falls Circuit which zigzags down across the steep mountainside before weaving through open forest. As you explore the trail, you will discover cool seasonal lagoons overlooked by tall palm groves and massive strangler figs. After your hike, take a breather and enjoy a barbecue at the scenic picnic area in the heart of the eucalyptus forest.
